Our Story
In October 2003, TheShowKid.com was launched. An idea born of a special need in the horse show realm. Rarely do we see a shop dedicated primarily to the needs of children who participate at various levels of the horse show world. With wide selection and prices so affordable that parents could happily shop and not feel the pinch of an already expensive venture.
TheShowKid.com was a hit!
A niche filled, sending a message that told the horse showing public this was a shop with “stuff for kids, with horse showing in mind.”
Since opening, TheShowKid has expanded to offer items for riders of all ages.
Marcia and Don Schwartz have owned the Holiday Farm Equine Center in Baldwinsville, New York for over twenty years. Their facility offers boarding, training, and lessons. In the fall of 2004, after Marcia retired from thirty-four years of teaching elementary school, she and Don acquired TheShowKid.com. "The Kid" seemed perfect for the seasoned educator who loved both her students and her horses.
The Schwartz's have been involved with all horse breeds, but Arabians have been their passion since they purchased their very first horse in 1973. Since then they have been involved in all aspects of the Arabian industry- A-rated showing, President and Board of Directors in the Empire State Arabian Horse Association, Region XVI delegates, and even delegates to the Arabian National Convention.
It is our wish to continue this venture at our Holiday Farm facility, located at 9233 Oswego Road, Baldwinsville, NY, and to continue the on-location horse show convenience our customers have come to rely on.
